About this Service
Phoenix House is committed to ensuring a successful and sustained recovery for our clients, and our Sober Living and Recovery Support Services help meet that goal. Our Sober Living facilities vary based on location and can provide either a safe transitional space before a full return to independent living or an alternative to residential treatment for clients who may need more than outpatient services. Our programs also admit clients who are in need of housing or are in a living situation that is detrimental to their sobriety. Clients may be employed or in need of vocational counseling. Length of stay varies based on individual needs.
Services are geared toward building social capital; developing peer, social, and community supports; transitioning into education or employment; and family reunification. We provide supportive case management to assist clients to prepare for successful recovery-oriented, independent living. In some facilities, clients also have access to primary medical, dental, and psychiatric care, including 24-hour consultation available through our medical clinics.
Phoenix House also operates a women’s shelter and as well as a mental health residence for clients with mental health disorders in need of a supportive living environment.
Clients, alumni and the public can also get support for sober living at one of our three Recovery Centers which offer peer-led support, assistance and a safe place to socialize and meet other sober people in the community. Check your location pages to see if we have a Recovery Center near you!
Assessment
The individual (and family members where appropriate) participate in an individual assessment and evaluation to determine treatment need and if sober living is the most appropriate level of care.
Services Planning
Together, the client and case manager develop a plan that includes client goals and steps needed to achieve these goals.
Services
Services vary by location but typically vocational, educational, transition/re-entry, and relapse prevention services are offered. Many clients also attend our outpatient programs while staying in our sober living facilities.
Continuum of Care
The length of stay in our sober-living facilities is dependent on client needs and clients may “step-down” to a less intensive level of care when the structure of the sober-living facility is no longer necessary.
Recovery Monitoring
After treatment, clients engage in a recovery plan that may include support groups, participation in recovery centers, and alumni group services.
