About this Service
In various locations, Phoenix House provides independent assessments and evaluations of substance use disorders as requested by individuals, families, schools and the Criminal Justice System (including courts, lawyer and probation/parole offices). We can also create brief or comprehensive written evaluations and monitor substance use.
The results of these assessments and evaluations can become the basis for recommendations of educational classes, a brief intervention, drug use monitoring, or another form of treatment.
Assessments for Individuals and their families
Individual assessments for adolescents and adults can be completed at the request of the individual or their family (where appropriate). We will fully evaluate a person’s drug or alcohol use and how that use may be affecting them medically and psychiatrically, socially, financially, and within their family. Each assessment and evaluation is individualized as are the written summaries.
Assessments requested by Schools
Phoenix House staff can come to your school to assess student substance use or abuse. Areas assessed include school problems, drug/alcohol/nicotine use or abuse and related peer, social, psychiatric, medical or juvenile justice problems.
Assessments requested by the Court System
Phoenix House has a long history of working successfully with members of the Criminal Justice System. We can provide assessments pre-trial for lawyers and judges, evaluation and referral to services, monitoring of substance use, and numerous other services.
