Phoenix House AmeriCorps Volunteers at East River State Park Brooklyn

Phoenix House AmeriCorps volunteers hit the streets for Governor Andrew Cuomo’s statewide initiative, “I Love My Park Day,” choosing East River State Park in Brooklyn to celebrate and help raise awareness for our state parks and historic sites. Volunteers helped by cleaning up park lands and beaches, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails, and worked on assorted site improvement projects. Helping to preserve the natural beauty of the parks in our communities, in addition to sharing healthy, substance-free recreational activities are just a few of the tasks our AmeriCorps team are eager to embark upon. Nice job!
