On Wednesday, November 2nd, over 650 guests gathered for another fabulous Fashion Award Dinner held at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers. The evening honored Brendan Hoffman, Phoenix House Board member and President & CEO of Lord & Taylor, Pamela Fiori, Editor-at-Large of Town and Country, and Mark Badgley and James Mischka, Founders and Creative Directors of Badgley Mischka. Through the incredible generosity of the fashion and retail communities, we raised over $1,060,000 in support of our life-saving substance abuse treatment programs for men, women, and  teens.

WABC-TV’s glamorous news anchor, Sade Baderinwa, served as the event’s emcee and our award presenters included the venerable publishing giant Michael Clinton, reality TV star Kelly Osbourne, and renowned designer and philanthropist Kenneth Cole. The most memorable part of the evening was hearing our client speaker, Sofia Capria, give a heart-wrenching account of her struggle with addiction as a teenager. She truly stole the show with her inspirational story of recovery and her remarkable new life as a thriving college student.

The evening also included exciting auctions with items from our two sponsors, Tiffany & Co. and Verdura. Tiffany & Co. generously donated a once-in-a-lifetime experience called “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” which includes a private breakfast in the exclusive Tiffany Salon, a tour of the Tiffany jewelry workshop, and a private consultation to select a piece of jewelry worth $15,000.  In addition, the raffle winner of a pair of exquisite sapphire and white topaz earclips from Verdura decided to donated this amazing item back to Phoenix House to be auctioned off! We ended the evening on a high note after this surprise second auction.

Phoenix House is grateful to our generous Dinner Co-Chairs, who include: Rose Marie Bravo CBE, Frank Doroff, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., Ronald Frasch, Guess?, Inc., The Jones Group Inc., Laurence C. Leeds, Jr., Lord & Taylor, Jeffrey McDermott, Peerless Clothing International, Richard L. Plepler, Ralph Lauren Corporation, Andrew Rosen, Shirley Lord Rosenthal, Catherine Samuels, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, Burton M. Tansky, and Annette Tapert. Thank you also to our sponsors, Tiffany & Co. and Verdura.
