The Teen Recovery Management Program located at the Derek Jeter Center in Tampa, Florida, provides adolescents who have completed substance abuse treatment with age-appropriate support. Participation in the program helps sustain the benefits of treatment, while promoting long-term abstinence from alcohol and other drug use.
The program focuses on providing an environment for teens in which they can enjoy recreation and healthy activities without drugs or alcohol. Weekly outings for the teens include attending Tampa Bay Lightning and Buccaneers games, playing laser tag, and many other healthy, competitive, sober events. The teens recently had the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of bowling at Pin Chasers Bowling Alley in Tampa. The group of teens enjoyed hours of recreation, competition, snacks, and drinks.
They were also very lucky that afternoon. They shared the alley with a group of New York Yankees players in Tampa for spring training. The players spent time chatting with the teens and signing autographs.
