Clients from Phoenix House Prospect Place Community Residence are teaming up with our friends from Back On My Feet New York City for a healthier future. Back On My Feet assists our clients with employment partnerships, housing referrals, and returning to the workforce after treatment is successfully completed. The organization’s mission is to use running to change the way those experiencing homelessness see themselves and create self-sufficiency in their lives. Members obtain successful independence through employment, job training, and housing. With community and corporate support, the program strives to change the perception of homelessness. Nine of our clients have already participated in runs in Brooklyn and New York City, flash relay races, and a community yoga session. Morning runs, races, and social events are a great source of healthy exercise, camaraderie, and networking. Keep running and best of luck to everyone – great opportunities are within reach!
The Prospect Place Community Residence provides short-term residential substance abuse treatment for men. We offer clients a safe foundation as they develop the life skills necessary for successful re-entry to the community. Our staff and clinicians deliver compassionate care based on the needs identified in each client’s treatment plan. Phoenix House clients who have completed a significant stay in one of our intensive residential programs, but are not yet prepared for independent living, may enter our Community Residence program. We also admit referrals from other community-based treatment providers, employee assistance programs, and health maintenance organizations.
