According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a dramatic increase in opioid prescriptions has led to skyrocketing rates of addiction and overdose deaths. This is a national crisis that must be addressed, and Phoenix House, along with many other forward-thinking organizations and individuals, is “Fed Up!”

On Tuesday, October 1, we are excited to sponsor the “Fed Up!” Rally for a Federal Response to the Opioid Epidemic. The rally, which takes place in Washington, D.C., calls for “immediate action from our federal agencies…to prevent new cases of opioid addiction, to prevent more overdose deaths, and to ensure access to effective treatment for millions who have become addicted.”

We are proud to be on hand alongside Hazelden, Caron Treatment Centers, Faces and Voices of Recovery, Patrick Kennedy, the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse, and other organizations who are striving to end the epidemic of prescription drug abuse.
