Mayor Mike Bloomberg meets Phoenix House Military Services Program clients & staff at Forest Hills Memorial Day Parade 2013.Phoenix Houses of New York‘s Military Services Program staff and clients joined the festivities marching at the annual Memorial Day Parade in Forest Hills, NY. A long-standing tradition for borough residents and visitors, the parade draws spectators of all ages down Metropolitan Avenue to Remsen Memorial Park displaying enthusiasm and thanks in tribute to the generations of veterans representing all military branches. We were very pleased to return to honor and march with these brave servicemen and women on this special day of remembrance. Our treatment programs for the military community at Phoenix House Brentwood Campus and Phoenix House Jack Aron Center in Manhattan provide a unique range of substance abuse treatment and support services for active duty personnel, veterans, and their families. Local community leaders, sponsoring merchants, and civic groups marched the parade route, including Mayor Mike Bloomberg, pictured here with our group.  All of us at Phoenix House salute our veterans and are very proud of the military community we serve – we look forward to next year’s celebration.
