Clients of Phoenix House Mental Health Community Residence drug rehab visit the Intrepid in Manhattan

Clients of Phoenix House Mental Health Community Residence in Springfield Gardens spent the day on a dazzling educational field trip aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on Pier 86 in Manhattan. In addition to being a national historic landmark, the aircraft carrier Intrepid is the centerpiece of a series of interactive exhibit zones, memorabilia, and artifacts. It’s also the neighbor of the space shuttle Enterprise, and both the ship and shuttle are open to the public to explore on guided tours. Our clients love field trips and sober recreational activities, and this one was an educational hit–covering history, science, technology, and culture. The men and women of Phoenix House enjoyed spending the day with friends and learning more about the world as they embark on their own adventures in recovery.
