The Third Annual Phoenix House Freedom Run! Walk! Ride! For the Health of It! took place on Saturday, October 2, 2010 with Fit for Recovery!—a Health and Fitness Fair as an added attraction. This exhilarating and fun-filled celebration of life, health and wellness was attended by more than 100 people.

The event offered the choice of a 3K (1.8 mile) walk, a 5K (3.1 mile) run, or a 20-mile+ bicycle ride along the beautiful country roads of southeastern Rhode Island.  Participants also enjoyed a number of exercise classes and wellness activities, including Yoga, Laughter Yoga and Zumba.  The day concluded with a delicious – and well-earned – barbecue lunch for everyone who attended.

  • I was part of this walk for recovery and it was an amazing expirience seeing all these people that also struggled with addiction. Though i didnt leave phoenix house as a graduate i left there with great hope and expectations for my self. I will never forget those who helped me through my tough times.
