News from Adult Outpatient Services in Santa Ana

Thursday, February 18th, 2016

Clients at Orange County Patio AreaPhoenix House has provided adult outpatient services at the Santa Ana campus for decades. Improvements have recently been made to the program, staffed by Master’s level clinicians and now managed by Outpatient Services Coordinator, David Barclay II, MFTI. At the Outpatient Services office, a revamped interior and new furniture help patients feel comfortable and at home in the space.

Indeed, Mr. Barclay confirmed, “we make an effort to make sure that our offices are welcoming and make patients feel at home, reducing anxiety, and promoting relaxation to ensure a more positive attitude towards treatment.” Phoenix House serves free coffee and snacks, and offers magazines and films for patients in reception who arrive early for their sessions. “While we strive to help patients comfortable,” Barclay continued, “our treatment services are based on state-of-the art evidence-based approaches, including such well-regarded curriculum as the Matrix Outpatient, Anger Management Curriculum from SAMHSA, and TCU Mapping Enhanced Counseling System.”

Adults are assessed and and steered toward the appropriate level of service: Regular Outpatient Services feature six hours of treatment weekly, while Intensive Outpatient Services include a minimum of nine hours of treatment activities per week. Two-hour groups are held on weekday afternoons and evenings and on Saturdays, with the following time slots available:
