Over 130 participants and exhibitors, as well as two sponsors, NAADAC and Tranquility Woods, attended Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic‘s (PHMA) first ever event that focused on helping participants gain a deeper understanding of the state of addiction and recovery in this country—and what we can do to improve it moving forward.

PHMA hosted the Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic Recovery Summit: A Call to Action: The Way Forward on February 27 at the Holiday Inn Arlington at Ballston. Scheduled to become a regular event, it featured keynote speeches by two of our nation’s most respected experts in the field of addiction treatment, Dr. David Mee-Lee and Dr. Andrew Kolodny. Dr. Mee-Lee provided clinical insight into the new American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria and Dr. Kolodny moderated a roundtable discussion focused on the policy aspects and epidemic proportions of today’s addiction crisis.
