Recently, a New Hampshire teen who had been experimenting with drugs shared his story of recovery on Monadnock Parents, a website for parents of teens in the southern New Hampshire region. The boy spoke about attending Outpatient Services offered by Phoenix House Keene Center, which helps teens become aware of their alcohol and drug involvement, and learn ways to overcome substance abuse through focusing on more positive and healthy activities.
Keene’s Outpatient Services for Youth are complemented by Self-Assessment Saturdays for Youth (SASY), an early intervention program for teens who have been identified as experimenting with alcohol and/or other drugs, but whose involvement is not deep enough to warrant residential or outpatient treatment. Our Intensive Outpatient Program combines individual, group, and family therapy sessions. Participants live at home and may continue with work or school while involved in treatment. We also provide transitional living for clients who have completed residential treatment but require additional support before living independently.
Phoenix House Keene Center provides clinically-managed residential detoxification services as well as medium-intensity residential program for chemically dependent men and women, including those struggling with co-occurring mental health issues. Length of stay varies dependent upon the individual needs of each client and is followed by referral to the next appropriate level of care.
Phoenix House Keene Center is a Monadnock United Way Partner Agency.
