26th Annual Field Day

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Phoenix House hosted its 26th Annual Field Day event on Friday, August 20 at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island Park, New York. With perfect 89-degree weather, over 700 clients, staff and alumni from 11 different facilities across New York State were on hand to watch the athletes compete in various track and field events, including 440-relay races, pie eating contests and a tug-o-war. The two-year reigning tug-o-war champions, Belle Terre, were surprisingly dethroned by the Phoenix House Career Academy at Jay Street in an amazing test of strength and teamwork. Belle Terre persevered and won Best Overall Adult Facility and the Phoenix House Academy at Yorktown took home Best Overall Adolescent Facility. Congratulations to Belle Terre and Yorktown!
