2011 Humanitarian of the Year Award Luncheon: 

A Farewell Tribute to the Honorable Pam Iorio, Mayor, City of Tampa

On Tuesday, March 15, 2011, Phoenix Houses of Florida will host its fourth annual Humanitarian of the Year Award Luncheon at Higgins Hall, 5225 North Himes Avenue, Tampa.  Beginning with an informal reception at 11:30 a.m., the luncheon will begin promptly at 12:00 and conclude by 1:30 p.m. The award will be presented as a farewell tribute to the Honorable Pam Iorio, Mayor of Tampa, in recognition of her outstanding leadership and contributions to the community as she completes her second and final term in office. 

Chaired by Ray Murray and his wife, Nancy, along with their son,  Michael Murray and his wife, Joy, the 2011 Humanitarian of the Year Award Luncheon is expected to attract more than 300 guests, with news anchor John Wilson of Fox 13, WTVT, serving as Master of Ceremonies. Previous honorees include the Right Reverend Monsignor Laurence E. Higgins, Frederick E. Fisher and Whitfield Palmer, and Raymond E. Murray.  Proceeds will support the substance abuse treatment programs and services Phoenix House provides throughout the region.
