Phoenix House

Rising above Addiction

Women’s Programs

Women’s Programs

Phoenix House New York is pleased to offer an all-women’s drug and alcohol treatment program at our campus in Lake Ronkonkoma, New York. We also provide services for pregnant women, and women with small children.

Treatment for Women

Our Women’s Program, at our beautiful campus in Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island, 198x237_boyonswinghelps adult women prepare for productive, self-sufficient, drug-free lives. Residents are encouraged to examine the roots of their addiction in order to avoid relapse in the future.

We also offer academic testing, on-site GED classes, vocational evaluation and training, and assistance with job placement and work adjustment. Family relationships are also examined in the program; women with children are encouraged to develop their parenting skills and learn about child development.

Mother and Child (MAC) Program

At our Mother and Child program in Lake Ronkonkoma on Long Island, mothers complete treatment while caring for their young children (up to two years of age), and pregnant women receive help in a nurturing environment. While mothers are busy with treatment activities, their children are looked after by child care workers at our on-site Child Development Center. The children receive developmental evaluations, well-baby check-ups and immunizations from our pediatric nurse practitioner.

The treatment program focuses on rebuilding family relationships, reuniting mothers and children, developing parenting skills, and understanding child development. Our residents participate in new mothers’ support groups, “Mommy and Me” classes, pre-natal care and parenting classes. Educational opportunities and vocational training are also available to help families plan for the future.
