Mental Health Outpatient Programs
Phoenix House operates two Continuing Day Treatment programs, in Queens Village and West Brentwood for residents of New York City or Suffolk County who are struggling with substance abuse and diagnosed mental illness. We encourage family members and significant others to become involved in the treatment process.
Licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, our programs are designed
to develop self-awareness and self-esteem through the exploration and development of strengths and interests. Under the guidance of cross-trained clinical staff, residents are encouraged to help one another to identify and address negative attitudes and behaviors, and plan for a fulfilling, drug-free future.
Case Management Services
Our Case Management program, based in Queens, offers flexible case management services to clients struggling with substance abuse and diagnosed mental illness.
Licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, we help to engage, maintain and motivate clients in the community until appropriate treatment alternatives become available. Pre-treatment services include short-term individual and group counseling. Emphasis is placed upon supporting the appropriate use of prescribed psychotropic medications, and promoting abstinence from alcohol and other drugs.
We also work with the Phoenix House Housing Department and other local service providers to place homeless clients in appropriate housing. Phoenix House operates 10 units of supported housing for homeless and mentally ill chemical abusers, accessed through the psychiatric emergency rooms at Queens General Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital and Creedmoor Psychiatric Center.
