Adolescent Treatment Programs in California
Phoenix House’s treatment programs give teens a chance to break with the past and take control of their lives. Our programs span the entire continuum of care, from prevention, through brief intervention, to short and long-term residential services, to outpatient programs, and to ongoing recovery management. Our residential and outpatient programs provide drug and alcohol treatment in a safe and supportive environment. We place emphasis on warmth, empathy, and compassion that bind the treatment community together. We understand that only by nurturing the dignity of those we serve can we hope for them to rise above addiction.

Our Treatment Philosophy
We focus on the whole person, including the full scope of individual needs, such as education, vocational training, family engagement, relationships in the community, as well as mental, physical and dental health. To support youth in their quest for sustained recovery, Phoenix House provides: structure to cope with disorder; emotional strength and guidance to rebuild personal relationships; mental and physical health services to restore both the body and the mind; and education and life skills necessary for success.
In 2008, the Phoenix Academy residential treatment model for adolescents was designated as an evidence-based practice by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and placed on its National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP). In 2006, it was recognized as a model program by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).
