How often can I speak with my teen while he/she is in residential treatment?

Each Phoenix House treatment facility has different rules about how often teens can talk with or see family and loved ones. The best option is to check with your teen’s counselor. Personal cell phones are typically not allowed in our residential programs because we have found that outside distractions make the transition to a recovery lifestyle more difficult, particularly if your teen is calling people they used to drink or get high with.

Phoenix House also allows in-house visits at most of its programs, as well as family visit passes, although these privileges may not begin immediately. Teens can always write and receive letters.
