Can my child come to treatment with me?

Phoenix House has program locations where young children can live at the treatment program together with their mothers who are receiving treatment. In Dorchester, Massachusetts, our program accepts pregnant women and women together with up to three children as old as 18. Our Mother and Child (MAC) program on Long Island, New York, accepts pregnant and parenting women with a child as old as 2½. Our program in Arlington, Virginia, accepts women with up to two children as old as 7, and we have a program at Santa Fe Springs, California that accepts pregnant and parenting women with children.

Our Mother and Child programs provide treatment in a parenting-sensitive context. Child care is provided so that women can attend clinical groups. We offer developmental assessments and make referrals to help stabilize not only the woman with the drug or alcohol problem, but also her entire family.
