Book Drive in Dallas

Currently underway at our residential treatment facility in Dallas, TX is a book drive to stock the bookshelves of the Phoenix House Hill A. Feinberg Academy with age appropriate classic and popular literature.

The Dallas Associates group, led by Laurie Montoya, is heading up this endeavor and hopes the community will donate new or used books (or funds/gift cards toward the purchase of books). The “Library Initiative” is important to our Feinberg clients as a means of education, as well as a positive potential hobby. Presently, the book collection at the Academy is lacking, aside from standard high school curricula and text.

Thanksgiving at Feinberg Academy

The Dallas Associates group hosted a beautiful Thanksgiving lunch for the clients and staff at the Hill A. Feinberg Academy. Andrew Savoie, Associates member and Chef Instructor at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Dallas, prepared the menu and ordered all the food; the delicious feast he and his comrades cooked up made for an incredibly memorable Thanksgiving Day.

A big thank you to Chef Andrew Savoie and the Dallas Art Institute Culinary School for generously donating food and their time to serving the kids at Feinberg Academy!

Night at The Taj

The “Night at The Taj” benefit, hosted by the Phoenix House Associates of Dallas, will feature exotic Indian performers, authentic cuisine and festive décor. Proceeds from donations and ticket sales will assist in accomplishing much needed capital improvements of the Feinberg Academy in Dallas including landscaping, signage, painting, appliance upgrades, new furniture and much more. All attendees will be able to sponsor a specific improvement category as well as sign up to work as a part of the “Transformation” volunteer team. Celebrate Spring and Everything New On Wednesday, April 8th, 2009, 200 guests enjoyed a beautiful evening, hosted by Phoenix House Dallas at the home of Kelly and Mark Bunting. The purpose of the soiree was to raise awareness and interest among members of the community regarding the programs in place for addiction treatment and prevention at the Dallas Hill A. Feinberg Academy. The event was a huge success, with Phoenix House acquiring many new friends and interested supporters. Click here to read more and to look through pictures from the event.
