Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Privacy

Phoenix House is committed to protecting your privacy. We will not sell, rent, or in any manner share personal or credit card information that we obtain from you. Phoenix House will not intentionally disclose any personal information about you (such as your name, address, telephone number, credit card number, or e-mail address) to any third party unless we have your permission.

Collection of Information

The Phoenix House website automatically collects some anonymous “non-personally identifiable” aggregate information about visitors when pages on our website are requested through a browser. This information is used for statistical purposes and to help us monitor how many guests navigate our site, allowing us to customize our service for future visitors.

The Phoenix House website collects IP addresses as a component of the non-personally identifiable aggregate information. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer by a web server when you’re on the Internet. This information is used only for non-user specific purposes, such as determining how many users visited a specific area of our site. However, if it were necessary, such information could be used to identify a user in order to comply with safety and/or security issues or with legal requirements.

Donating Online

Phoenix House uses industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to ensure that all credit card transactions are secure. The SSL system encrypts information that you submit to us via our website when you make a donation. Encryption makes it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept information about you or your credit card information. Phoenix House does not use “cookies” to support online donations (see “Cookies” section). Phoenix House donors may become part of a Phoenix House mailing list. However, Phoenix House will not sell, rent, or share your information with a third party.

Links to Other Sites

Content on the Phoenix House website links to the sites and services of our affiliates and third parties. Although every effort is made to ensure that any referrals are reputable, Phoenix House does not control the contents or links that appear on the third-party sites. The sites may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies, or no policy at all. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party sites you may visit before providing any personal information.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your browser from a website and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies can’t read data from your hard disk or read cookie files that were created by other sites. The website that creates a cookie is the only one a browser will permit to access it.

Cookies do not allow Phoenix House to personally identify you by name, e-mail address, or other personal information. Phoenix House may use cookies to analyze site activity and customize content. Phoenix House does not use cookies in connection with online donations.

    • What's an intervention?

When people engage in self-destructive behavior, they often don't realize that they need help. An intervention is when family members or friends confront a loved one about his or her addiction, express their concern, and offer suggestions about how and where to get help. Click here for information on interventions.
