Nokia’s Generosity Helps Phoenix House Teens Celebrate Season

In late December, Phoenix House hosted a very special holiday party at the Hill A. Feinberg Academy in Dallas. Nokia employees, who generously donated more than 200 gifts, joined teens at the Academy to fully celebrate the season.

Previously, each student had identified a few holiday wish list items and Nokia representatives from nearby national headquarters personally delivered the beautifully wrapped presents to the Academy.

“The people at Nokia did not even know me, but they still brought presents,” one teen said. “My holiday was better and more joyful because of them.”

The real gift was not about the boxes under the tree – the exchange among strangers and the bright smiles of the kids’ faces was a special holiday treat for everyone present.

“Several of the kids wouldn't have had any gifts had it not been for the generosity of Nokia,” said Feinberg Academy Director Michelle Hemm. “This kind of giving teaches our kids that there are people who care about them and are willing to take the time to make this time of year special for them.”

Nokia employees joined the students for refreshments, while others toured the facility and learned more about life and treatment programs at Phoenix House.
