Phoenix House runs intensive after-school outpatient programs in Dallas, Austin and Galveston / Gulf Coast for teens ages 13 to 18 in trouble with drugs and alcohol.
We help kids get back on track – socially, emotionally, and academically. Our professional staff works with teens to help them identify and confront the underlying causes of their substance abuse. During treatment, teens work to rebuild their self-esteem as well as learn how to control impulses, make positive choices, manage stress, and plan for the future.
Treatment at Phoenix House includes:
- A comprehensive assessment to determine the extent of the problem
- Individualized treatment planning
- Group counseling
- Individual and family counseling
- Parent education seminars
Family Participation
Family involvement is a key factor in the success of the program. Parents are expected to attend multi-family groups and parent education seminars. These sessions enable parents to:
- Show their support for the process
- Learn how to better communicate with their teen
- Receive encouragement and ideas from other families
