| Phoenix House,
California, operates two outpatient drug treatment programs for teens in the
San Diego communities of Encinitas and Point Loma.
The Phoenix House Teen Recovery Centers provide after-school
treatment for adolescents and their families. Teens attend
intensive sessions at the centers on weekdays, and participate
in “clean and sober” supervised recreational activities
on weekends.
Parental involvement is a key element of the program. Families
take part in extensive education, therapy, and recreation activities
throughout the course of the program, and work towards creating
a home environment that will support teens in their recovery.
