Phoenix House Honors Judge Michael Nash and American Idol’s Kara DioGuardi at the 6th Annual Triumph for Teens Awards Gala
Phoenix Houses of California gathered Los Angeles’ top entertainment and business leaders at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on April 30 for its sixth annual “Triumph For Teens” Awards Gala.  The event raised funds to support Phoenix House treatment programs for teens and honored this year’s award recipients— Judge Michael Nash, Presiding Judge of the Los Angeles Juvenile Court, and Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer, singer, and American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi. The Reseda Church of Christ “Wish List” Ministry Gives Back to Phoenix House Santa Fe Springs Women’s Program
On December 20^th, the Reseda Church of Christ, Canyon Country Bible Study group, sponsored the Santa Fe Springs Women’s Program as part of the Reseda Church of Christ “Wish List” Ministry. The members of the church provided 100 presents for the women and children in the program complete with Santa and a Christmas Chorus to personally distribute the gifts and entertain the group. Fifth Annual Triumph for Teens Awards Gala Benefits California Academies
On Tuesday April 8, Phoenix Houses of California hosted The Fifth Annual Phoenix House Triumph for Teens Awards Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. The cast of ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters” received the 2008 Phoenix Rising Award, along with Los Angeles Police Chief William J. Bratton his wife, trial lawyer, television commentator, author and actress Rikki Kleiman who were honorees of the 2008 Public Service Award, which recognizes their contribution to civic life, exemplary leadership and their efforts to bring change to at-risk and disadvantaged youth.

“The Color Purple” Performance Raises Funds And Awareness for Phoenix House
More than 100 board members and friends of Phoenix House gathered at the Ahmanson Theatre earlier this year for a performance of Oprah Winfrey’s “The Color Purple.”  The play’s theme tied-in well with the important work of Phoenix House—helping individuals tap into their inner strengths to overcome hardship, recognize how family and friends can help them work through tough times, and understand that each person has the ability to create his or her own life.  Read more.
