Fifth Annual Triumph for Teens Awards Gala Benefits California Academies
On Tuesday April 8, Phoenix Houses of California hosted The Fifth Annual Phoenix House Triumph for Teens Awards Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. The cast of ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters” received the 2008 Phoenix Rising Award, along with Los Angeles Police Chief William J. Bratton his wife, trial lawyer, television commentator, author and actress Rikki Kleiman who were honorees of the 2008 Public Service Award, which recognizes their contribution to civic life, exemplary leadership and their efforts to bring change to at-risk and disadvantaged youth.

PHOENIX HOUSE APPOINTS TIM NOONAN AS CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
Tim Noonan, CEO and president of Lockton Insurance Brokers, LLC has just been selected as Chairman of the California Board of Directors. Mr. Noonan served on the board for the past five years and was previously presented with the Public Service Award at the Phoenix House Triumph For Teens Awards Gala in 2006. Read more.
 


 
“The Color Purple” Performance Raises Funds And Awareness for Phoenix House
More than 100 board members and friends of Phoenix House gathered at the Ahmanson Theatre earlier this year for a performance of Oprah Winfrey’s “The Color Purple.”  The play’s theme tied-in well with the important work of Phoenix House—helping individuals tap into their inner strengths to overcome hardship, recognize how family and friends can help them work through tough times, and understand that each person has the ability to create his or her own life.  Read more.
